Mountain Flora Tour
Find the prettiest plants and flowers with a biologist
Did you know that the mountains surrounding Hemavan are a must-see for those interested in botany? Not only is it the home to the biggest mountain botanical garden in Sweden, but you will find a massive variety in mountain flowers above the treeline. On this tour our biologist Andreas will guide you through the birch forest with big edible plants to small bright colored flowers high up in the alpine region. Depending on the season we will spot many orchids and walk through fields of mountain avens. Here you will also get Hemavan’s best panoramic view.
During this tour we’ll cover about 5-6 kilometers of hiking. In order to get to the alpine region we’ll also need to climb about 300 meters in altitude. If this is too much for you or you wish to go on a shorter tour with us, please inquire about alternative options.
