Arctic Ice Fishing in Hemavan
Catch your own arctic char
Either with snowshoes or skis we head out on a short tour to one of the lakes close to Hemavan, surrounded by the mountains. We’ll head out in time to catch the first sun rays of the day or the sunset in the early evening. This is the time when the mysterious arctic char becomes extra active and we have a larger chance of catching a fish.
The arctic char is a fish made to live in extreme cold and for as long as 30 years. Just imagine their strength, living underneath 1 meter of ice, during 6 – 8 months per year.
On this tour, we try out ice fishing and you get to know more about the right technique, how to find fish and catch them. Enjoy the silence around the campfire as we gather for some fika and a warm drink before heading back to Hemavan

What to bring:
warm and waterproof clothes, hiking boots or snowboots, water and a snack.
